We are delighted to announce our inclusion on page 86 of a recent report shedding light on the general inequalities in Australian universities. Titled Gender inclusive practices and work-life balance in Australian Universities, this report, unveiled in December 2022, represents a significant milestone in our ongoing quest for gender equality
Commissioned by Universities Australia, the peak organisation representing 39 universities in Australia, this report is part of a comprehensive initiative aimed at enhancing gender equality and employment prospects for women within Australian higher education institutions.
The report serves multiple purposes, but strives to:
- Contribute to the evidence base on the nature and drivers of gender inequalities, including during and after the pandemic
- Identify examples of leading gender-inclusive practice in universities and other knowledge-based industries
- Produce a report and a practical toolkit on gender-inclusive practice for university leaders
Our inclusion in the report highlights our pioneering approach to tackling gender inequality within our sector. We would like to extend a special thanks go to WATTLE Alumni and Project Steering Group member, Professor Helen Hodgson.
We welcome the opportunity to engage with universities that have not yet joined our community, and we are eager to discuss how WATTLE can contribute to advancing women in leadership within your institution.
